ou may be searching for research papers online because you legitimately need to see samples, models, by which to write your own piece. You may be drilling down through the labyrinth of research papers online to compare writing styles or to price the most affordable services to get that last minute paper cranked out. Or you may be seeking the easy route—one which has such common appeal and popularity these days you might almost feel like an idiot not taking advantage…especially since you work two jobs, have three kids, and are just weeks away from getting a degree you really have worked yourself for.
But let one writer of research papers online give you a few warnings about indulging in what could be a nightmarish outcome. I only wrote a few papers for one company—in between legitimate writing jobs and after having been a college instructor, I was conflicted. I needed the cash but I didn’t need the guilt. I should have sided with my conscience on this one. Anyway, let’s just pretend I was going undercover…as that what I had to imagine I was doing to put up with such a racket.
This company had three phone numbers. At one point when I needed to, I dialed those numbers, one in the UK and two in the US. The one in the UK just rings. The one in the US just rings. The second one in the US rings for a hell of a long time, then picks up, speaks a mechanical message about no one being available and hangs up. The writers for this research papers online system are directed to, are held to, and are only given a writer website. This site has a different name than the company selling the papers and in no way ever lets on or inadvertently gives mention of the actual company name. The site the writers have access to is merely a bulletin board of customer requests and of messages from the writer to the customer, the writer to the administration, or the administration to the writer. Writers, in other words, can never gather, communicate, or commiserate. The postings on the board are complaints by customers about where the papers are (because no writer has yet bid on that particular assignment, so it sits there, uncompleted). The postings on the boards are also by writers asking why an assignment was taken away from the writer or about why the paper has been cancelled, thereby taking away the promised dollar amount that the writer needs to live on.
The writing quality on those postings is horrendous, so I infer that the writers are not trained or skilled to write those master’s level works. The writing quality of the webmasters for the writer site is equally atrocious, so I question the quality of any paper you might pay for.
Let me toss out—begrudgingly—a disclaimer: some research papers online are of top quality. Some sites offering services of research and writing are more together and organized. But all are what are called paper mills and all are tongue-in-cheek designed and run to offer students research materials…NOT papers to put your name on and turn it.
Here is where you might likely be caught, as plagiarism is an academic sin and instructors have handy tools, software, programs, and memories that will spot a fake paper most easily. As well, if you have been writing for an instructor for months and then turn in a fake paper, the instructor—who is devoted to every single one of you in the classroom and out—will note the differences in writing style, theme, rhetorical strategies, and other nuances you and I might think a busy teacher would miss.
I want you to succeed. I also believe in doing what you can get away with doing—provided it is above board, legal. You can see my conflicted feelings then, about research papers online, right?
